Growing up in West Auckland, New Zealand gave him a love of painting wildlife. It wasn’t until he received lessons from world renowned painter, Raymond Ching, that he really began to hone his observation skills and techniques.  Most of his career has been spent as an illustrator for advertising and publishing. With over 800 books published,  time and time again returning to his passion of landscapes and wildlife.


His other passions include Latin-American dancing, recently returning from a trip traveling around Brazil and dancing in the Rio Carnival with partner Kerrie. “I was deeply impressed by the explosion of colour in the Carnival parade, the grandure of Iguazu falls, the tropical islands of Paraty and the steaming jungle of the Amazon,”  which marks  the inspiration for his latest series of paintings.

He currently resides in Scarborough, Queensland with Kerrie and Otis, their Blue Heeler. Still dancing, still painting...
